IFC Supports the 11th Russian Investment Symposium as an Institutional Partner to Highlight Russia during the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings

Washington, D.C. and Boston, July 31, 2007-IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is pleased to announce that it will serve as an institutional partner to the International Economic Alliance's 11th Annual Russian Investment Symposium which is traditionally hosted in Boston. To coincide with the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings, this year's Symposium will be held in Washington, D.C., on October 18-19, 2007. IFC and IEA, along with other partners, will cooperate closely to highlight Russia and viable opportunities for investment.

"IFC is pleased to continue supporting IEA's Russian Investment Symposium. This renowned platform will focus on Russia's rising global economic status during the IMF-World Bank meetings. While Russia has undergone important economic growth in recent years, this growth has yet to permeate all of the country's regions. There are great opportunities for entrepreneurs to tackle." said Edward Nassim, IFC Vice President for Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

"As leaders in government and banking descend on Washington for the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings, IEA's Russian Investment Symposium, working with IFC as an institutional partner, will be able to spotlight Russia on the world's stage," said Van McCormick, Director of IEA. "This Symposium will be a unique gathering of senior leaders in finance, policy, academics, and business-all in one dynamic, must-attend event."

About the International Economic Alliance (IEA) and the Russian Investment Symposium

The IEA was conceived at Harvard's Belfer Center as an independent 501 (c)(3) non-profit to create and host international investment Symposia based on the successful model of Harvard's Russian Investment Symposium, which was founded in 1997 at the request of the Russian government.

The Russian Investment Symposium has now become the premier forum on U.S. soil for Russian and US leaders from business, finance, and government, to meet, plan for the future, and do business.

Historically the Symposium works closely with the US and Russian governments, business leaders, and partnerships between the leading NGO's and business associations, including Russia's Foreign Investment Advisory Council (FIAC), US Commerce Department's BISNIS, AmCham in Russia, ARCCI,RABC, USRBC; and academic partners, including Cambridge University Business School, US-Russian Technology Symposium at Stanford, the Kennan Institute at the Woodrow Wilson Center and Harvard University professors. In addition to our partnership with World Bank/IFC, the IEA has an ongoing institutional partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and ongoing participation from the Ex-Im Bank, and OPIC.

The 2007 Symposium will take place in Washington DC, on October 18-19, 2007. For more information, visit www.IEAlliance.org.
